to write a poem
just for you
is the easiest thing
that I do

I just close my eyes
and think of you
then my heart tells
my hands what to do

my fingers hold
the pen so lightly
then write the words
that my heart hold tightly

all the while
your image is there
to open my eyes
I do not dare

my mind can see
your face so clear
secretly wishing
that you were here

the words themselves
pour out like wine
which is easy to do
since our hearts entwined

when I look at you,
my eyes paint the picture
but my heart does the seeing
