Love Overflows Poem by Mark Sauer

Love Overflows

Love brims its cup and cannot be contained.
Love overflows. In its first flood it hurled
Out the stars, stretching apart the membrane
Of the universe, to pour out the world.
Love overflows. It burst the symmetry
Of crystal God, to compel Creation.
Love fills the voids it cuts; every cranny
It seeps within melts into an ocean.
Love overflows, answering in mothers'
Tears the swaddled infants' question, as those
Of man upon his deathbed. The other's
Thirst is our fountainhead. Love overflows.
The grail pours out His blood and is not drained.
Love brims its cup and cannot be contained.
