Love Of Country Is Not Always Extremist Behaviour Poem by Paul Warren

It is possible to love your country
Without being a left or right extremist
Being proud of you country's achievements
It doesn't mean that you should be avoided
Wanting to celebrate your national day
Should not make you an extremist
Or a Stalinist or a Neo-Nazi when judged

Should we be brought to task
For the mistakes of our forebears
Or just live your life well from now on
Doing those things that are more acceptable
Loving those attractions of your home
Those things that make you happy and proud.
