Love Loss Poem by Robin Nichols

Love Loss

A love frozen in time
Continuing it's reach
Trying to touch
Trying to feel

It's ice cold heart
Desperately grasping for the warmth
Ever so slightly beyond it's control

It screams out it's wishes
It pleads for the mercy of one
For only one can set it free

The very one that once held this heart
Has Chosen another way
The one that keeps this heart
Carries on with life
With nary a thought to the pain they inflict

This love remains frozen in time
Cold, cold tears fall to no avail
No notice from the one who could set it free
No care, not one single thought
Kind words they fail to speak

The love grasps for warmth
It fights for freedom from it's cold grave
Till finally it succumbs to what is will be
And accepts it's fate
As it slowly fades away
