Love is no religion
It’s not founded on antique annals
And stipulations of regulations
Its formulas are not inscribed
In the scriptural texts unreservedly inflexible
But on the parchments of the hearts
Of those who authentically possess it
Love has no rituals or libations
It flows freely from the heart
And heals the soul
Love is a feeling, religion is a practice
Religion is a belief, love is a reality
Religion is rooted on hope
But love gives forth to hope
Religion demands sacrifice
For it focuses on the Day of Atonement
And computation of heinous deeds
But love preaches the art of blissful sacrifice
And never asserts counting of wrongs
Religion incarcerates a free mind
For the fear of the day of judgement
But love accords the mind the freedom
To fly wondrously where it will
All because love is no religion.
