Love Intimacy
One night, I knocked your door
You opened welcoming me
We had tea and some spaghetti
We talked, fact-finding, no more
We communicated at head-level
Cautious, afraid to get to heart level
The path we treaded was graveled
It was boring, yet our talk-traveled
Wooden heart doors stayed closed
Void of gut-level real communication
Defensively scrapping for information
Sharing was volunteered, not forced
Hours passed, topic after topic
Your hidden heart, wish I knew
To know you is to touch the real you
Whilst skirting, we were not affective
Let's share our likes and dislikes
Share our wants and needs
Wander into future dreams
Self-disclose our moods and vibes
Why not be unafraid, be real?
Is opening up, to share, a risk?
In knowing you, I begin to trust
Being real, you cannot be unreal
Trusting someone is a choice
To love someone is a choice
Gift of oneself is a choice
Happiness path is a choice
Love is intricately weaved
Through gentleness and kindness
Through patience and forgiveness
Unconditional love breeds
Love, endures weather of life
Love is to last life long
Love lives life beyond
Intimacy keeps love-life alive

Congratulations for the well deserved poem of the day Paul. I guess fear prevents us from exposing our real feelings. Fear of our feelings not being reciprocal and that it may ruin a good friendship is right up there with not being able to open up to another person due to fear of being hurt or disappointed. An interesting write from start to finish. Thank you Paul.
