Love Has Rewards Worth Attaining Poem by Terence George Craddock (Spectral Images and Images Of Light)

in this fickle ripe world
of politics
and personality clashes

all is possible

it is possible to be highly
esteemed then fall
from favour like a flash

of lightning with a single incident
real or imagined
being cause of a life changing fall

all is indeed possible

when the flawed human heart
is an instrument of judgement
and power rides without reason

hear the beat beat beat of heart
over-impassioned raging reasonless
casting former friend enemy off

into punishment inappropriate
undeserved ill measured
ill conceived lacking compassion

fortunes of war fate famine pestilence
an ill wind weather unseasonal
the push of a button flick of a pen all

can overturn a lifetimes gain
in a moment of ill fortune
all being lost in but an instant

there is no security except in good will

so often it bears the strangest fruit
is repaid in the strangest way
and even when all is lost no hope

eventuates upon earthly horizons
a wealth in heaven awaits faithful souls
who sought none to hurt and many

to help for it is written
“love your neighbour
as you love yourself”

And who is your neighbour?
The whole world is your neighbour!
And love covers a multitude

of sin and sin covered is forgiven by God.

All will fall in death regardless of station
attained in the measure of each life given.
Who then will prepare real hope unfailing?

A shadow of death is communion fall common to all!

Who then will a wise soul decide is worth pleasing?

Love always has rewards well worth attaining!
