Love For Death

Death halted
eleven years
for your permission
to cross our door.

Only when you thought
it was your time
not to stay here
anymore

I saw it entering
like an obedient son
to do its duty
of carrying your soul.

Mother, I can not forget
I saw love in your eyes
for death.
I cannot. I cannot.

poet Alfred Lord Tennyson

It little profits that an idle king,
By this still hearth, among these barren crags,
Match'd with an aged wife, I mete and dole
Unequal laws unto a savage race,
