Love Flies On Coloured Wings Poem by David Harris

Love Flies On Coloured Wings

When love flies on coloured wings
we sometimes get caught with simple minds
that tear us from less meaningful things.
We are drawn like a moth to a flame
when love flies on coloured wings.

We run blinded by its light
to the towers it has created.
Like an insect caught in a spider’s web
we are captured in our flight
when love flies on coloured wings.

We go without resistance
to pull us back from our plight.
We follow the call hypnotised
and beguiled by its sight,
when love flies on coloured wings.
