Love Eternal Poem by Stan Petrovich

That tag is not nonsense,
Except that nothing in eternal,
Not even the universe
That will only fade away to nothingness
In the distant future, as has been shown.

But for our little purposes,
Flying backwards
Like insane birds,
You & I can get on forever,
Until our lives simply fade away,
Like everything else.

Flocking, but apart from the rest,
A miniature flock,
A miniature lovenest,
We can forcefeed our young,
Until they too drop dead.
Our love, it seems, will last eternally,
But it can't,
So let's make the best of it now.
