Love Chords Poem by Paul Sebastian

Love Chords

Rating: 5.0

Love's an opportunity to give
Expecting little in return
Growing their shared belief
Testing seasons of love sojourn

Love's not a secret garden, unseen
Love seeks expression of its own
Love strives to bind two beings
With chords that cannot be broken

Between hills, through valleys it flows
Love-bound relationship ever stands
Warding off cold winds that often blow
Love-river flows over boulders and sand

With open hands love seeks to give
It is the nature of enduring true love
Selfish shallow self-love is short lived
Oft-wrought painful tears and grieve

Love is not blind when bound
Selfish love ends itself in ‘mistakes'
Deeply scaring future love bond
Recklessly sought path many take

To truly love, then to have it lost
Is richer than not had loved at all
But unrequited love is felt worst
When rejected, not wanted at all

Love grows to better each other
True friendship become meaningful
To God become closer and dearer
Love becomes profoundly beautiful
