Love At First Sound Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Love At First Sound

Rating: 5.0

Love at first sound
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
It was moonlit night
Not a soul was in sight
Only silence was the sound
Heard at midnight around
Then rang the mute telephone
In my room where I was alone
Receiver I picked up
Heard a female voice speaking up
Emotions of love to my roommate
Whom she had started dating of late
My roommate was not home
And I happened to be at the room
Listening to her voice of vent
That made me shy and reticent
"Then humbly I said to her
Listen you faceless stranger"
"I am not the guy you are talking to
For I am his roommate"
Never had she cared listening to me ever
And ended up talking for hours
Bringing us closer and closer to something else
That he said, I could feel it love and nothing else
And now twenty-five amazing years later
Her voice is still a music lingering in my ears!

A very humorous and fruitful ending to an interesting tale Deepakji. Congratulation! All is well that ends well! 10/10

Humorous write. This happened with me many times many years back, especially when mobile was not there. once, I felt the person was in a hurry as it was a std call some where from far and may be from PCO. your poem reminded me of long years back. Loved reading it.

Did she at anytime realize that she was talking to a stranger? It seems, both of you enjoyed listening and talking to each other! Hilarious and beautiful write! Enjoyed this shipboard romance!
