Love And Lust Poem by Jim Boone

Love And Lust

Rating: 5.0

I love you my friend
Can I make you understand
Why that feeling so warm and exciting
Passes through me at a glance or the
Slightest touch of your hand?

Lust is a temporary affliction
That passes very fast
But love, as I feel it for you
Will last, and last, and last.

To you love means boundaries
Chains and closed doors
To me love is boundless and
As free as the great outdoors.

My love has no pride or ego
Jealousy and its destruction I abhor
Because through love’s freedom
There is so much beauty in store.

We met through lust
But when its passion had past
A special kind of love had blossomed
It too was exciting and good
If allowed, it could stand fast.
