To really love
You've gotta grow up
Love is selfless
And unconditional
Do you really know
What that word means
Unconditional
Without reason or justification
A love that always is and will be
Forever and continuing
Regardless of circumstance
Love isn't about your happiness
Your feelings
It's about unity
Fulfilling all hearts equally
Love means sacrifice and compromise
Love isn't just for better
But for worse
Love means you gotta communicate
Listen and comprehend
Understand rather than demand
Love exists within your heart
Your body, soul, and mind
Maybe you don't know why you love
But since you do
Love is yours to keep from being gloom
Love is the greatest power
Held in the palm of your hands
Love could cure it all
The heartaches and the pains
Still
We drink the alcohol
And we distribute drugs
When the most powerful solace of all
Is love
Love forces you to see life
And breathe a different way
And if you cannot see
You cannot appreciate
Let’s live
Let’s love
And do what’s right within
And maybe we’ll get through
With less enemies and more friends
