I know what a woman is,
I know what love is,
I have smelt many a flower.
But I never belonged to anyone
Only the love of people has brought me
Out into these streets.
Whenever the people have taken to the streets
In famine and in epidemics,
And rent the hostile air with slogans;
Whenever the country has seen wars, deaths, struggles,
I have always come out to stand beside my people.
I know what love is
All my love is dispersed among the masses.
My love is now scattered among crop fields, rivers,
In the air and throughout the soil of the country.
I declare to you that my love will conquer all.
I have learnt what love is
From you.
