Love Poem by Larry Parson

Love

'You're too young to know love'
Irratates me, I may not have a mental grasp of it, but my heart speaks
It's a yearning, a want, a longing, I'll say more of a need
I need to love you as if my life depends on it
I want you to love me back, no, I need you to love me back
..........
You don't, and my want, my yearn, my longing, my need, it all becomes hate, and pain, and self loathing

It makes me scream and ask why?
Why I'm tormented, why I hurt, why I need your love
I cannot find an answer
I look for one
It's lost, gone, dead, a fallacy
It is the thought that you could ever love me back
Love is hate, love is a want, love is pain, love is longing, love is self loathing, love is why I can't sleep
Love is a snake that constricts my life, and distorts my view
Fills my view with tears, my love is pain
