Love Poem by Brian Swaine

Love

Love is patient; it is a sea of tranquility
with waters so calm.
Love is kind; its tenderness and goodness
is a haven so warm.
Love is not jealous or conceited;
envy is its enemy, pride is its foe.
Love is not arrogant or rude;
assumption and impudence it does not know.
Love is not selfish;
caring and sharing is what it gives.
Love is not ill-tempered or resentful;
it cannot be angry or vindictive.
Love rejoices in the right, and scorns at the wrong;
it celebrates Truth and everything it brings.
But most important of all,
Love bears, believes, hopes and endures all things.
Love is endless; it has the courage and the strength
to last through all eternity unaltered and unchanged.
Love is powerful; it has the will and capacity
to make all our lives perfectly arranged.
So Faith, Hope and Love,
abide these three;
Love, by far,
is the greatest of these.

Based upon 1 Corinthians 13; 4-7,13
