Lost Love - Poem by Udiah (witness to Yah)

Void, empty, hollow inside
My dreams have fled, my hopes have died
Existence has no reason
Life's just passing with each season

She was my life, my hope, my love
All is gone, passed by thereof
The hurt is such no one should bear
What's to life, why should I care?

I weep all night for my love gone
My heart is sick, for death I long
Mine eyes well tears for love that's lost
I'll mourn always for the great cost

But in each day Lord give me hope
Strengthen me so I may cope
Grant me wisdom to help me see
Thy great way and not just me.

It is so disheartening that the guy lost his love, and it is very well expressed here.. It brings out the soul of the person who is/was completely in love... well expressed! ! (Report) Reply

I understand that the guy was in love and that he lost his love, but was he with the girl or was it just a distant love and he never really got to be with the girl from the start. maybe she didn't love him back and he didn't get the courage to ask her out and when he finally did he got the hope to ask her out and found out that she was either dating someone else or wasn't interested in him...maybe that's why he lost all his hope. Im not trying to change the story im just giving my perspective on this poem. There a few things that catch my eye like ok well how is this happening. Love is a strong word and the writer expressed it beautifully...but maybe the person in this poem really wasn't in love to begin with, maybe it was just a feeling and not the whole emotion. Commendable work...Crisp, tightly cropt stanzaic structure enables fluxive structural movement...Suggestion: Consider syllabic attention as to where you are placing your metre emphasis that will enable you to achieve maximized rhythm & a cadence that glides like satin off silk, from the works onset to close-out.. ~FjR~.
