Lost Inspiration Poem by Apurva Jain

Lost Inspiration

What I had as my soul,
Belonged to someone else,
What I had as my breath,
belonged to someone else,
All that belonged to me was my heart,
All that belongs to me is my heart,
All that'll belong to me is my heart....

What I saw with my eyes,
Was someone else's vision,
What I thought were my thoughts,
Was someone else's decision,
All that belonged to me was my heart,
All that belongs to me is my heart,
All that'll belong to me is my heart....

Someone was taught me life,
In bits and pieces, cut with heart's knife,
Someone else was when my laughter cried,
And my cries smiled,
Someone else is a living dream,
The shining sun in a mountain stream,
Someone else is white,
Mixture of all seven colors,
Someone else is peaceful,
Divine, my heart's lover,

That someone else was my soul,
Someone else was my breath,
Someone else was my eyes,
Someone else was my mind,
Someone else is someone lost,
That someone's presence was my heart's cost,

In that someone's palms,
my 'belonging' lies,
With that someone,
my inspiration dies......
