Lost In This Journey Poem by Sam Edison

Lost In This Journey

I am both lost and drowning in a pile of dirty laundry
Fighting to pull myself out frustrated by what I cannot see
Frustrated by what I can never be on this limited journey
I know not where this will end up stuck in cold and rainy weather
The sun is just for show as my spirit is still freezing
Souls can warm up for a minute when splashed with ethanol
Looking ahead staring in the golden eyes of an overweight black cat
The feline see's right past me as he pays me no mind
That is just the way the journey is knowing it can end at any time
It can never last for ever it is not an infinite mountain climb
Today is yesterdays tommorow and tommorows yesterday
What this all means is that it doesnt really matter
Even when all together we are trully all alone
Lying together in bed we were never trully at home
All of us on seperate journeys and there are no crossroads
So we can never cross paths born alone and die alone
