Lost In The Bodies Of Water Poem by Anna Petrashishina

Lost In The Bodies Of Water

I'm a little girl lost in a sea of regret.
I've been so full of it, that my mind can't seem to forget.
No one wants to teach me how to ride these waves of life.
My parents swim right next to me, but can't help me through the pain and strife.
I'm a little girl lost in the ocean blue.
When you reach for me, I won't let go of you.
The waves of this life toss me from here to there.
People see me drowning, but they don't seem to care.
I'm a little lost in a lake.
My eyes are looking for an answer of this heartache.
The salt that flows through my wounds doesn't bother me anymore.
Though I used to cry out in pain before.
I'm a little girl lost in a river that never stops.
It will keep flowing even if it drops.
I'm a little girl lost in a creek.
I'm a little girl, but no longer weak.
I'm still that little girl, but I stand on the shore.
The answers I once seeked, I now explore.
