Lost And Found Poem by Portia Lane

Lost And Found

Rating: 5.0

Lost in a sea of emotions
Lost in the depths of my own thoughts
Lost without any notion
Lost and left distraught

Gray doors and black walls
Where shadows don’t exist
No light, no dark to fall
Because dark is all there is

The shape of pain
Stained on concrete ground
As acid tears rain
All around

Flash of light
In that instance a silhouette of a familiar figure appears before me
Like a shadow it is dark but is made visible by the light that follows
Darkness returns

Flash of light
This time the silhouette reaches out as if to grab me
Like a mother reaching for her distressed child
Darkness returns

Flash of light
Not a flash ‘cause it lasts for longer this time
The hand reaching out is no longer a silhouette
But you, a mother, reaching for me, a distressed child
Darkness is fought with love and hope

Black walls painted white with love
White walls covered with vibrant color
Happiness embedded in every shade
Thank you
