Lost Poem by Jessel Jane Tevar Toring

Lost

Rating: 5.0

Now I understood what it meant
to get lost in someone else's eyes.
To get lost is when you look at me
and suddenly the world grows dim,
there's only you... in perfect view.
I felt like a standing corpse
all form of life gone -
for in those eyes, so dark
I lost myself in you.
No word, no phrase could redefine
the momentum of what I felt.
No prose, no poem could best describe
the words left unsaid.
My heart wanted belligerence,
but my thoughts turned to air.
My heart turned numb, my lips lame,
I was lost beneath your stares.
Your steady gaze drew me to you...
they drown me into you
till I hardly breathe,
my heart has leaped
heights I never knew.
In your eyes, the world fell
and my heart began to sink.
I understood my whole existence
could be shattered in a blink.
I understood that single word I never want to be.
