Lost Poem by Olayinka Faderera Olayiwola

Lost

..A letter from God...

I remember days of your passion
Days when you glowed with a mission;
When we communed in sweet fellowship
When you do come before me in worship
But now, you’re a ghost of your old-self
Haunted by your evil-self
I remember days of your first love for me
When you earnestly sang “nearer my God to thee”
And passionately sang “I’ve decided to follow Jesus”
Never yielding to any of flesh course
Now that has gone with memory
Mere myth, an old boring story
I remembered how I had loved you
Love so pure like the morning dew
How I never want you out of my sight
How I empowered you with my might
But you strayed away from my presence
Far away from your life’s essence
And ever since then I have wanted you back
But you have wandered far into the dark
How I wish you could return today
To my warm embrace without delay
Remember I loved you first
And it hurts me to see you lost.
