Loss Poem by Ivan Donn Carswell

Loss

Which bit don’t
you understand –
disappointment
or loss?

I used to say that’s me
the dull bloke next
to the beaut Sheila
and they knew who I was

but now you’re gone
they hesitate – was
I erased the day
you went away?
