Lorelei Poem by James Walter Orr

Lorelei

Lorelei, Sweet Lorelei,
Your siren’s song has stirred my soul.
My armor’s cracked, My shield is gone.
I’ve glimpsed the part: Now show the whole.

The silky, sensuous satin sheets
On golden skin and curling hair-
No matter how the soft folds lie,
No matter that the feel is rare,
‘Tis not as rare as skillful hands,
‘Tis not so soft as human tongue
That tastes the salt, the secret scents
Of silken skin, of body young.
As once ‘twas said, time’s river flows.
Oh Lorelei, let’s stem the flow.
Let’s quench our thirst, Sweet Lorelei -
Let’s fan the spark so embers glow
Until they put to shame the sun;
Eclipse the moon, and blank the stars –
Let’s drink the nectar, eat the flesh –
Oh Lorelei, let’s break the bars
That separate the word from deed.
Oh Lorelei, spread your sweet feast,
On your sweet juices let me nurse-
Romantic, Ravishing – A Beast!
