Lord You Know Poem by Herbert Dry

Lord You Know

Rating: 4.5

Lord you know I can't read or
write
I hope you can understand my
plight

I only know what I've been
told
That you have a city made of pure
gold

Lord I would like to walk those streets
above
And walk in abundance of your unconditional
love

Lord you know I can't read or
write
But to see that city would be my greatest
delight

Lord you know life is hard down here
below
And down my face tears do
flow

We have suffered loss of loved ones
so dear
And now they live in the eternal day
so clear

Lord you know I can't read or
write
But they tell me of a city where the
Lamb is the light

Lord they tell me that everyone shall
not go
Only those who believe in Jesus from his
wounds blood did
flow

From his beaten body life did
drain
So that forgiveness and heaven we
might gain

Lord you know I can't read or
write
But they tell me Jesus will make
things right

Upon the cross I do
now see
The one who gave himself for
you and me
