Everyone is looking
For peace of mind
Often hard to find
In these troubled times

Trying to make ends meet
When prices are on the rise
Some people just can’t take it
You can see the fear in their eyes

The people we put in power
From our state to Washington D.C.
They say they’re looking out for us
But that I’ve yet to see

What I see are politicians
Who care about themselves
Of course their life is easy
While the rest of us reside in our own hell
