Looking Poem by Ronald Chapman

Looking

Standing on a western shore,
Looking on,
He sees the edge of the world,

All angry,
Trapped in the sand,

Light fading slowly,
Sun falling,
Reflections of memories in the ocean's waves,

A foreigner,
Remembers an impossible past,

In whose heart,
Lives his past,
In a distant light and a long ago time,

A home he will,
Never see again.
