Look Ahead Poem by Edwina Reizer

Look Ahead

When you get to the bottomless pit
of where you think you are,
Then the only way there is for you
is up, up close to a star.

Just pick one out and watch it shine.
Look at it and stare.
It will remind you, you'll go on
for it's gone and its light's still there.

The journey back up is how we grow
and find a power within
to teach us what we came to learn,
of what it takes to win.

It takes faith and hope and mostly love
to step up from despair.
One rung at a time on the ladder of life
is like a daily prayer.

And eventually as you reach the top
and look back down below,
You'll understand that life on earth
is a time we will all outgrow.
