Longing Poem by Abubakar Ahmed Imam

Longing

I want to behold your face
On the belly of the horizon
Growing darker and darker
Until it bursts
Into a soothing frenzy

I want to view your smile
On the stretch of the horizon
Flickering
Lashing the eternal expanse
Of the skies

I want to hear your voice
Rumbling across the horizon
Deafening echoes
Reverberating
Roaring like a hundred lions

I want embrace your presence
And sniff your breath
As you descend upon us
Dripping
Healing a thousand ailing hearts.

I like it. It feels more mature than your other two poems. Nicely written and good use of imagery.

Longing for the healer.. A hearts cry. A sense of feeling, wanting to be totally immersed. Well written. Love: D
