Long- Kang Fish Poem by jessica ng kai lun

Long- Kang Fish

Have you ever envisioned yourself being in their position,
where children chase after you with grubby hands?

There is no exception,
there is nowhere to run and nowhere to hide
The nets come lunging mercilessly as humanity bans

There is no explanation,
for your worth comes in your size
The cruelty is amplified through the fish-eye lens

It is utter damnation
to have a definite death sentence once you're caught
But you'll have prisoners such as yourself who are dense

So I have come up with a preposition,
please pour them back into the river banks
