I was like the lonely wolf in the world of love
And you came and walked with me
Somehow I was desperate to talk to someone
You showed up and gave me company

I was looking for a friend
You became my best friend
I needed someone to listen to me
You did not just listen to me but you talked sense to me

In times of need I was solo
Then you came to live by me
When I gave up you told me to carry on
You gave me reasons not to give up
My troubles, problems you made them yours

I searched for a cleaner of my dusty heart
For I was not going to love again,
You gave me love, you cleaned me
My heart, you turned into a flower garden
You being this most beautiful of all growing by me

It was not fame I looked for
To you I became famous
My name played like a song to you
You made me feel a man of substance,
A man cared for and loved

Indeed I looked for love
But in you I found a lot
Love, friendship, trust, joy, teacher, mother, wife
You held my hands

In the end I asked what I was afraid of in the beginning, marriage
And your finger you gave me
You surrendered your heart for my love
You signed the page of no return with me
For better for worse

And so my success, laughter, joy
I make yours
You made me love again
You gave me back a life I thought I lost
For you accepted me when others did not
You are much better than what I looked for
