Lonely Girl - I Poem by Eshna Dutta

Standing alone she is, in the midst of the crowd,
She is screaming her heart out loud.
But no one can hear her cry,
Her deceptive smile, only thing they see as they pass by.
She has learnt the Truth, which her heart finds it difficult to accept,
But truths are always harsh, hurting, but that is her fate.
She had come to this world alone, and is destined for loneliness,
Her heart can't accept this fact, but all she finds around her is Emptiness...
Why me? ... She asks for an answer, after everytime it happens,
Is she so unworthy, that everytime its her heart that gets broken......
But... She continues trusting people, loving them, as she has done through the years
Hiding her dead self, with that one smile, enough to hide a million tears.......
