Lonely Eyes Poem by Christine Lockehart

Lonely Eyes

There he sits
All alone
Absorbed by his troubles
Hiding in a world of his own

Such a beautiful soul
Why must you hide
From everyone
From me

Concealed away
Submersed beneath
A curtain of uncertainty
Quite a fair facade

But,
Your eyes
They draw me in
For a reason unknown

No need to speak
For your eyes say it all

So bright
So pure
They paralyze me
In my place

Strange attraction
I can't help but wonder
Why you hurt
You just seem
So lonely

But I wish to see you smile
Smile for me, my prince
For when you smile,
You're eyes ignite
Indeed does my heart
