Lonely But Not Alone Poem by Indigo Wisdom

Lonely But Not Alone

This road it can be lonely
And the dust gets in my eyes
But then that's okay
It gives me a chance to cry

The eagles soar above me
Though I'll not give them the pleasure
Of plucking out my heart
For I've given it at my leisure

A loving warmth surrounds me
On the nights when the chill is strong
I know he's here with me
Holding me where I belong

If I listen very carefully
I hear a sweet voice say
"I love you, you are safe
I will never go away."

Yes, sometimes this road is lonely
But I am never alone
I know because he told me
We'll always be as one.
