Lonely Poem by Aiesha Freela

Lonely

Lonely girl on a plane
Why you cryin?
What’s your name?
Who are you running from?
She has a teddy bear, pink room
And she’s fresh outta high school
Sweet, like the evening sun
Her momma says “Don’t you think you’re special? ”
Her daddy says, “You’re my queen”
She so afraid she’s going nowhere
Locked and lost between
Lonely girl don’t you worry
Lonely girl don’t you live your life through someone else eyes

Lonely boy on a train
Why you sad?
What’s your name?
Who are you running from?
He was in a packed house with shared jeans
Had a front porch and moon beams
He’s gotta get out of this town
No more bible, he will travel
He’ll learn so much in school
Daddy drinks himself to sleep
But Lonely Boy says “F*** you! I’m no fool”
Lonely boy don’t you worry
Lonely boy don’t you live your life through someone else’s eyes

Beautiful mom can you smile? Can you glow?
Can you sing me my favorite song?
Coffee for one, clothes are clean, kids are gone
What to do? She's a sleeping sun
She sits, birds fly out her window
She watches jealously
She says she’s too old for new things
But momma you’ve got wings!

Lonely girl don’t you lose your dreams for someone else’s cries
Lonely girl don’t you live your life in someone else’s eyes

Lonely boy don’t you find your faith in someone else’s lies
Lonely boy don’t you live your life in someone else’s eyes
