Lonely Poem by chris schwartz

Lonely

Because I bury my tears
In the love that I have
For you.
For that,
I think
I need to apologize.
Selfish motives
So deeply buried
Within the lust
We can't deny.
Strong and charming
Are the animals,
To us,
Who make us
Want to fly.
But only the strong
In the pack of creatures
Survive long enough
To reap the glory
Of the wild pony's
Free spirit.
Injured and broken
I want to shed
My wicked past
Onto the wind.
But the past
Keeps me entwined
Unraveled, in its thick
Musty haze,
Subdued and silenced
In a cubicle
Protected from
Sun's burning rays.
If the earth was
A memory
And I was its core
I would stay with you
Forever
Never longing
For more.
