Loneliness Poem by Elannia Lake

Loneliness

Loneliness has no color, it is only a pit
A dark endless pit of despair
When left by everyone you love
You are likely to find yourself there
It’s poignant smell is repulsive
The nauseating smell of those who died there
Alone
The sickening taste could drive one insane
And has, numerous times
When alone you feel nothing
Or so it seems
Your emotions numb after a while
And your mind ceases to dream
To dream of escape
Loneliness burrows in the heart
Abolishing all that once inhabited
Because lonliness
Wishes to remain alone
