London 2012 Olympics & Paralympics Poem by Maria C. Pires Costa

London 2012 Olympics & Paralympics

27th July- a British milestone
Welcoming two hundred and four countries
Through a parade of emotions, no fears,
Sounds of music and loads of cheers!

The Olympic Village vibrating
Glorious noises breathtaking
Thousands of volunteers on the show
Efforts crowned by a human glow!

The Stadium is attentive now
To a variety of sporting players
All struggling for their performance
Years of training, hard work, endurance.

From Rowing, Cycling, Swimming
To Gymnastics, Fencing, Archery
They're pushing hard, hopefully
For their attempt to winning...

At famous, popular British venues
Crowds rejoice over a victory
Others wipe tears painfully
Still others perform in their especial way
Superhumans they are
Unique souls they will stay!
