Locked Poem by True Merritt

Locked

Inside
My own head
No way out

Escape
There is none
No where to go

Locked
Stuck inside
No one to help me

It’s them
Who put me
In this prison before

I push
To be freed
But they push back, harder

Still, on
They will still
Continue pushing

I fall
Further then,
I’ve ever been

They put
Me here, but
I let them

Great use of rhythm. Short and simple. The voice of helplessness is strong.
