Living In Past Poem by Mohammad Ashek Shaahid

Living In Past

Rating: 5.0

People say-life moves on so
look forward.
Never hold on to old grudges
forget the past.
Life is too short and
chances fewer.
Memories die fast,
nothing lasts forever.
When everything falls apart,
and bound to decay.
Why should man on earth
sorrow over past days?
Alas! living on my ruins I
can hardly make sense.
Which one my past and
which is present.

Such a compelling poem, it's rhythm was like a rushing river heading towards the ocean, it took my breath away. Then the last two lines brought me up abruptly, causing me to catch my breath and ponder the truth of what you said. Really great poem, I got a lot out of it! Thank you for sharing it. RoseAnn
