Living Her Life Poem by Beryl Dov

Living Her Life

At D. H. Lawrence’s grave,
a small white chapel set
amid the mountains of Taos,
she recites a passage
from Lady Chatterley's Lover,
“A woman has to live her life,
or live to repent not having lived it.”
Later, at the Adobe Bar
she clutches a Cuervo Gold
and listens to Segovia,
surrounded by Zapata’s men
and photographs of Lawrence,
living her life,
her life,
between sips of Gold.
