Live Your Life (Nothing Is Perfect) Poem by Ayandare Mayowa

Live Your Life (Nothing Is Perfect)

Live Your Life
Her role is lead,
Quality preparation on her part is need,
Committed she was, diligent and hardworking,
Folks and friends,
Colleague and mentors,
Giving her support and guide.
The stage is set, the time is now,
The theater is packed, the seats are filled,
Blown-up expectation, Psyched –up anticipation,
Necessary ingredients for the much publicized play,
Wendy’s teleplay titled Life.
Her script, her life,
Her purpose, her destiny.
The Journey/viewing begins now,
Alas! Wendy isn’t ready,
Ought to have started before now,
Only Wendy wasn’t ready,
Her lines and costume, according to her, not yet perfect,
The play gone by half,
Wendy is not ready,
Final act and scene,
Wendy is getting ready.
The final scene and lines;
Forces smile and relief from already swollen faces,
Bright light emerges finally at the end of the much dread dark tunnel,
Worthy applause and shouts and sighs and sobs and smiles,
Rocking to foundation the world theater,
Perfect climax to an almost tragic and suspense filled play,
Wendy now is ready.
Tears stream down her cheeks and beautiful costume,
She has prepared her whole life for this moment,
Unfortunately, her place and role in the teleplay, life,
Becky just played.
