Little Things

Why can't each day be fun
Why can't sadness be over and done
I'm sick of feeling down today
Oh peace why can't you stay
Whenever I think it will be fine
I find another trouble I can call mine
None too big that I can't take
But even little things can make a shake
Why do they hit on my day of rest
Why can't they hit when I'm at my best
I don't need all these little things
I don't need their hurts and little stings
Just give me rest for just one day
Oh little things, please stay away

Poem of the Day

poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti

Young Love lies sleeping
In May-time of the year,
Among the lilies,
Lapped in the tender light:
White lambs come grazing,
White doves come building there:
