Little Girl Poem by Janine Louw

Little Girl

Rating: 5.0

Little girl sitting in a big man's world
big men
sick men
filthy men
twirl her around their fingers
gifts and compliments abundant they bring her
little girl falling in a big man's world.

Little girl lying in a big man's world
white lies
dark lies
big lies swirl
surrounding her young life
the only way to survive
little girl crying in a big man's world.

Little girl screaming in a big man's world
loud screams
silent screams
empty screams heard
no one to take her hand
too young to understand
little girl dying in a big man's world.

Why does he like me
why does he touch me
curse me
embrace me
distastefully and painfully immerse me

Big hands
cold hands
dirty hands
filthy hands

Crying out
shouting loud
help me
drown me

Shame me
blame me
he framed me
and drained me

Don't talk
just walk
quiet voice
has no choice

Don't turn
just burn
in hell
I fell
faith dropped
it never stopped

Little girl can't get up
in a big man's world.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Too all the little girls who had their innocence taken away and to all the little girls walking as little women today, because they kept silent all these years.

Aloha Janine... Welcome aboard my fellow bard... a pretty good place to post and store... and seek a higher rapport with word working wrights and more... life and the experiences one makes it through seem quite sordid for the mess of US... being one who does this for entertainment... getting in the messy muddle of humanity and all that implies... whatever... My thoughts are there too... with you as you continue to travel, in what ways that your travel... and my thoughts are more than travelling these daze... I have heard that, Silence is Golden, an untruth perhaps? However, personal experiences do the better bard make... and should this be the cast, IAM really interesting in those experiences which you will share to the all of US and too the Universe... really! ... And those closing lines... not true atall... There are those Big Girls that make up their own rules too... Lovely Facial... All of the best from this life, to you, and all of your relations... thanks for sharing your poem, Janine. It is a poem on lost innocence, a painful poem that gives voice to too many children humiliated and sexually abused.. A poem on depravation.. the one of those who take the innocence out of those little girls..
