Little Angel Lost (A Villanelle Poem) Poem by Sheri Green

Little Angel Lost (A Villanelle Poem)

Sleep, little angel, lost in twilight's sigh
Quietly dream of wavering, tranquil skies
And I will sing, sing to you my lullaby

Clouds waft and whisper of sweet serenities
As the sunlight embraces its immutable demise
Sleep, little angel, lost in twilight's sigh

Ever basking in the Elysian amenities
Drift on the sough as the night draws nigh
And I will sing, sing to you my lullaby

Pay no heed to the world in its obscenities
Gaze upon the terrene with benevolent eyes
Sleep, little angel, lost in twilight's sigh

Lose your thoughts in mine identities
As I cast off this confounding disguise
And I will sing, sing to you my lullaby

Awaken to the birth of thine own entity
Embrace the dawning of which gives rise
Sleep, little angel, lost in twilight's sigh
And I will sing, sing to you my lullaby
