Our need for love
gives tremendous power
to the opinion of others
and they manipulate us.
It requires tremendous
constant heroism
in being who we are
especially when
misunderstood and ill treated.
Listen to your deeper Self.
Be yourself.

It takes a decent measure of self-esteem and confidence to accept and love oneself and it is so sad to see people being manipulated by unscrupulous people in their need to be accepted. I enjoyed your poem and I was touched reading your note about your desire to write to keep her memory alive...10
