Listen Poem by Kennedy Mawirah

Listen

I speak not of the old, nor do i deserve your gold,
My words are a puzzle word, you need to complete them,
I can sing many songs, wear a coat of many colours,
Walk a million miles, but not in your shoes,
I belong to my world just as you to yours,
Intention goes with completion to become a foundation,
When i was little words i was told, 'never look down upon the less fortunate, they are victims of circumstances'
Really circumstances? or should it be nature,
Yes Nature! a cruel and fatal pleasure,

Hold your horses, utter not a word that will bring down your hose,
Before you speak, think, activate, search your words, then let them out intelligently,
The tongue is a soft and tender pleasure, but still a tough disaster,
I will not be here tomorrow, we know not of tomorrow,
Heed to my little advice, keep your attitude up above the altitude,
Hear, listen and understand,
My words are a simple song.
