Lingered Long Upon This Dream Poem by Viola Grey

Lingered Long Upon This Dream

Rating: 3.9

Lingered long upon this dream
where nothing is as it may seem,
word of colours silently scream
and truth belongs only to me.

I shared with you a gentle kiss,
held hearts cool beat within my fist,
blood pumped promises exsist
for liars tongues to gently twist.

You loved me more each passing day,
caressed the lies you could'nt say,
sheltered them from harms way
then threw that love into my face.

I wanted this, I cannot lie,
one more chance, one last try.
Goodbye my dream, so long, goodnight,
this life I have is soley mine.

To dream is to cherish life even in slumber, it is the most perfect illusions that is almost real! Loved this, high marks.

Beautifully composed, even though this write is of sadness...your ability to use such emotion within every heart felt line, is of the highest qualities only that a poet as yourself are blessed to hold. Excellent! ! ! ! 10/10 from me :) Best wishes Jon.

Oh my goodness! I almost started crying. This is so sad! Maybe I am just weird. But it is a good poem!
